Overview of Kanchenjunga Expedition
Mt. Kanchenjunga standing at an incredible height of 8586m is the world’s third highest peak in the world. Mt. Kanchenjunga lies at the extreme north east of Nepal which lies along the Sikkim-Nepal border. This peak consists of 5 peak around its region and renowned for Kanchenjunga massif.
Kanchenjunga is derived from two Tibetan word ”kanchen” and “dzonga” which translates to ‘five treasures of the great snow’. Thus this peak lies in the periphery of five massif peaks as Kanchenjunga I, Kanchenjunga west (8505m), Kanchenjunga South (8494m), Kangbachen (7903m) and Yalung Kang (8420m). The five treasures of the god can be seen in the form of gold, silver, gems, grains, and holy books.
Mt. Kanchenjunga was believed to be the world’s tallest mountain till 1852.this peak was first expedited on May 25 1955 by Joe Brown and George Band. This peak lies in the sanctuary of the Nepal with three main peaks. This sanctuary is home to the red panda and other rare species plant, bird and animals. The other side of Indian border has ‘Khangchendzonga National Park.’

Route for the Kanchenjunga Expedition
Kanchenjunga expedition kicks off initially from Kathmandu via which you will visit to most famous region in Nepal such as Arun valley, Kanchenjunga conservation area and interesting trails of Himalayas. The trek follows the flight or drive to Bhadrapur from Kathmandu and jeep drive to Khandemba via Phidim.
Kanchenjunga Expedition starts from Khandemba where you will pass via many famous and interesting villages of the region include Khewang, Yamphudin, Tortong, Tseram, Ramche, glacier camp and finally to the base camp. You will move past these places slow advancing, resting and acclimatizing.
After the base camp, you will expedite the camp for over 30-32 days in the camp. There will be 4 camps in between the base camp and the summit. The summit is proceeded via north face which is little technical yet a adventurous peak climbing scenario of the region. There will be necessity of using ropes and ladders and our Sherpa will do it most diligently. The section between 6500 to 7000m is moreover steep and need 500 m rope climbing.
