Sarangkot-Naudanda day hike is one of the most famous short trek routes around Pokhara valley. This spot is more than just hiking widely famous for paragliding, zip lining, cycling and sunrise view of the Annapurna range. Sarangkot is famous for the sunrise tour as well as it is paragliding take off point .Sarangkot is a must visit place without which your stay at Pokhara would be incomplete.
We will take a vehicle service early in the morning to Sarangkot to have the sunrise view of the towering snowcapped Himalayas of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri range. Spending some of our best time at the view point and enjoy the beautiful moment, we will take our breakfast at Sarangkot and head towards Kaski ridge to Naudanda. The trail follows an easy walk through the ridge, different green hills, forest. The Kaskikot reveals the history of the area.Upon your arrival at Naudanda, you can view the beautiful Fewa Lake and the city to the south along with the astonishing view of Annapurna range specially the twin tails of Fishtail Mountain and Dhaulagiri. We will take our lunch at Naudanda and take vehicle to retrace back to Pokhara.
Kahun Danda Hiking is another charming place can be made from Pokhara which is located to the North-East. Beautiful panoramic view of the Annapurna range and the Pokhara valley are the attraction of this hiking along with the landscapes, terraced farming fields and rich cultural diversity.
The trail starts from Narayanthan crossing over the newly built bridge and then follows the army barracks at Phulbari. After crossing the Mahendrapul, the trail follows a gentle uphill climbing with the views of the Annapurna range and the Pokhara valley. The amazing view of the Annapurna will fill your heart with joy. Beautiful villages with diverse cultural settlement can give you an insight on the rural settlements, their life styles and traditions. The viewpoint on the north face of Kahun Danda covers a wide range of rhododendron forest. After having enough time and enjoying the natural beauty, we will retrace back to Pokhara.
Another short and must visit trek around Pokhara is the World Peace Stupa day hike. Two of the total 80 similar peace stupas around the world are in Nepal; one in the south side of Pokhara at Annanda hill and another is in Lumbini. Besides its teaching of peace to the world, it offers a wide range of panoramic views of Annpurna, Manaslu and Dhaulagiri along with the Phewa Lake and the Pokhara valley.
After having breakfast, we will head towards World Peace Stupa. There are few routes to reach at the top hill either crossing the Phewa Lake by boating or follow the trail through Raniban forrest crossing over a suspension bridge and then fairly gentle uphill climbing all the way to the top of the hill to World Peace Stupa or a longer route from Pumdi village. The better way to enjoy this trek is to reach the top around the sunset. The dramatic sunset views of the snowcapped mountains are just fabulous as the colors of the Himalayas changes with the sunlight. The breathtaking views of the sunset over the Himalayas would be one of your lifetime experiences. Take your time to enjoy the moments and choose one of the retracing back options to Pokhara.
Dhampus is a Nepali typical Gurung village that can be accessed from Pokhara walking in an easy plus trail. This classic hiking offers the most scenic walk, countryside experience and stunning views of the north of Annapurna range inclucing Dhaulagiri, Fishtail and many others. This hiking spot equally offers the sunrise and sunset views of the Himalayas.
We take our breakfast and drive for half an hour to Phedi through a scenic beauty from where we start our day hike. The trail follows a gentle uphill climbing all the way to the Dhampus through beautiful farming fields. The gorgeous view of the Mt. Fishtail is marvelous with the supporting views of rural scenes of farming lands, rural settlements and ever smiling people. After enjoying the nature on her best, we will return back to Kande and take vehicle to Pokhara.
